Space Western: Commencement Pre-Alpha v0.1
Hello, world.
Over the last 30 hours I've had 20 minutes of sleep and about 600 milligrams of caffeine. I've also written some of the highest-quality code I've ever written, and made huge strides in implementing a rudimentary inventory system. So went HackCU 11, my very first hackathon.
This is the first installment of a game I'm calling "Space Western." At the moment, this game serves entirely as a demo for my first inventory system. The style and theme of this game are intended to promote a unique and compelling image as well as deter any perfectionistic biases I may have in the development process; a game, pixelated with intention, can look excellent without striving for photorealism.
Over the years, I've accrued experience with Unity and C#, taking on projects here and there. I eventually abandoned most of these, except for one I did in a game jam with some friends, called Combine It! All the others rest atop the mountain of unfinished games. I don't regret attempting these little endeavors; it was only for these attempts that I know as much about the High Definition Render Pipeline as I do today. I do intend to start committing to my efforts and finish up my projects, and if that takes more all-nighters like this one, then I'll work until it's complete, gosh darn it.
So it begins
